Day 1 USA
to Madrid
Depart from USA
on an overnight flight to Madrid.
Day 2 Madrid
The tour will
begin with an exciting orientation. Some sites
you will see include the Plaza Espana, the
Puerta Del, the Soland, and the Columbus Fountain.
Day 3 Madrid
to Salamanca
In the morning,
you will visit the Royal Palace and the Prado
Museum. In the afternoon, you will travel
to the city of Salamanca for a quick visit
of the fabulous Plaza Mayor.
Day 4 Salamanca
to Colmbra to Fatima to Lisbon
The tour will
begin with a drive to the university town
Colmbra for lunch. After lunch, the tour will
progress to the city of Fatima. This city
is one of the holiest sites for Roman Catholics.
After visiting the city of Fatima, you will
have an opportunity to see the city Lisbon
in Portugal. You will then stay overnight
in this city.
Day 5 Lisbon
to Seville
The tour guide
will take you to visit the Discovery Monument,
the Gelem Tower, and the Jeromino Monastery.
Later in the afternoon, you will depart for
the city of Seville. This citys Moorish
and Christian heritage is reflected in its
architecture, fountains, and parks. In the
evening, you will have a chance to experience
the excitement of the Spanish Flamenco Dance.
Day 6 Seville
to Algerciras
Sites you will
be visiting today will include the dramatic
Seville Cathedral, the Plaza Espana, the Murillo
Park and the Santa Cruz Quarter. You will
stay overnight in the city of Algerciras.
Day 7 Algeciras
to Tangier to Casablanca
You will take
a ferry ride across the Strait of Gibraltar
to the exotic Moroccan city, Tangier. Your
tour guide will take you on a walk and show
you the Grand Socco and the Medina. You will
make a stop at Cap Spartel for pictures. Then,
you will travel to Casablanca for an overnight
stay.
Day 8 Casablanca
to Rabat to Tangier
In the morning,
you will be introduced to modern Casablanca
as well as the ancient and wealthy Anfa District.
Later in the day, you will travel to the capital
city, Rabat, where you will visit Mohammed
Mausoleum. On your way to the city of Tangier
for an overnight stay, you will pass by the
Royal Palace where you can take pictures.
Day 9 Tangier
to Torremolinos to Granada
From the city
of Tangier, you will take the ferry back to
Spain. Lunch will be served at a popular seaside
resort called Torremolinos. In the evening,
you will stay overnight in Granada.
Day 10 Granada
to Alicante
Granada was the
site of the last Moorish Kingdom in Spain,
reconquested by Queen Isabel in 1492. The
days sightseeing will consist of the
Moorish Palace Alhambra and its summer garden.
Later, you will travel to Allicante, a place
famous for its beaches and year round sunshine.
Day 11 Alicante
to Valencia to Barcelona
Valencia is not
only a sizable industrial city but its surrounding
areas also include the vegetable and fruit
gardens of Spain. An orientation tour includes
the Silk Exchange and the Indoor Food Market.
The drive to Barcelona will pass by endless
groves of the famous Valencia oranges.
Day 12 Barcelona
to Avignon (Breakfast
and Lunch will be served)
A panoramic drive
takes us to the bustling Rambla Street, Catalunya
Square, and the Columbus Monument. Other sites
you will see include the Picasso Museum, the
19952 Summer Olympic Site, and the Gaudis
stunningly unique and still unfinished Holy
Family Church. You will stay overnight in
Avigon.
Day 13 Avignon
to Lyon to Dijon
Avignon became
both an international city and the focal point
of Christendom in the 14th century.
Seven popes, who were all Frenchmen, resided
in Avignon. The orientation tour highlights
the Papal Palace and the 12th century
St. Benezet Bridge. The tour continues to
the city of Lyon, famous for its restaurants
and centuries old silk industry. You will
stay overnight in Dijon.
Day 14 Dijon
to Paris (Breakfast
will be served)
From Dijon, you
will travel through the countryside to Paris.
Upon arrival, you will have time to shop in
department stores or enjoy a cup of coffee
in an outdoor café.
Day 15 Paris
(Breakfast
will be served)
Today, you will
have an opportunity to explore the city on
your own or you may join an optional tour
to some of the most famous monuments in Paris.
Some attractions include the Louvre Museum,
the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower,
the Champs Elysees, and the Place De La Concord.
Day 16 Paris
to USA
Depart from Madrid
on an overnight flight to USA.
